Mistakes on ancestry James Walker, d. 1805 Rockingham Co., NC
Many are posting information on ancestry of James Walker who married Sarah[possibly Warren] and who died 16 Dec 1805 Rockingham Co., NC that his parents were William Walker & Judith Baker of Cumberland Co., VA. 1752. Believe because William and Judith had a son Warren Walker.
James Walker lived in Bedford Co., VA. before going to NC. James father William Walker also lived in Bedford County. Land records prove William Walker blacksmith deed of gift to his son James Walker whitesmith[a whitesmith worked with metal and tools not heat like a blacksmith] 100 acres 1755 and 1756. William Walker deed of gift to his son Philip Walker 216 acres 1756 and William Walker to his son Thomas Walker 100 acres 1756. One deed calls William Walker blacksmith, other deeds called him a whitesmith.
William Walker and wife Elizabeth sell land in 1762. I believe they may have also removed to NC with James Walker and others.
Philip Walker removed to Anson Co., NC. Thomas Walker and wife Madeline were in Bedford for awhile and may have also removed to NC ?
Since Bedford county was formed from Lunenburg county 27 Feb 1752 there may be records for William Walker there.
Since William Walker of Cumberland died 1752 he could not be father of James Walker of Rockingham NC.
