I am looking for the family (parents, siblings, etc.) for James Albert Walker. he was born about 1859 in Georgia. He married Willie Mae Harris in 1881 in Leesburg, Sumter County, Florida (We have their marriage license). They had 3 children Bertha Gertrude Walker born in 1884, Ernest Albert Walker born in 1886, and Maxwell Eugene Walker born in 1889.
James appears in the 1885 Florida State Census with Willie Mae, but by the 1900 US Census, they are no longer together and she is remarried to someone else. We don't know where James went, except that he had left her and was probably still alive by 1900 so he could have had another family by then.
I am interested in finding James and his family. He is my 2nd great-grandfather. His son Ernest is my great-grandfather. I had my brother take the Y-DNA test recently and his Walker Y-chromosome matches with Walkers in the Georgia/Carolinas area. If anyone can help me find James and his family, I would appreciate it.
