WALKES -- 7 Year One Name Study

Greetings fellow WALKES.

I have been researching my family history for 7 years now and have over 3500 individuals in my data base.

I hoping to complete a comprehensive listing of ALL present and past WALKEs.

My main research line extends back to about 1560.

I have 7 "other" lines researched and documented, several of them extending back 7 or more generations and into the 1600's.

If you would like to share information I would be pleased to hear from you. However due to bad past experiances I do not share my work until I have made a complete connection.

My primary line originates in South Devon and Cornwall, Engalnd as well as weveral of the "satelite" lines. Two distinct lines came out of Kent, England in the mid 1600's with the Huguenots.

I have also been accumulating "parish histories" where WALKES were "hatched, matched and dispatched" As well as photographing these churches and old family farms and homesteads through out Devon.

I look forward to hearing from you
