Hi Debra,

The South Beach Pioneers is a family book put together by my distant relatives, documenting all the history, family and descendants of Thomas Pearse and Martha Sperring who arrived in Melbourne in 1841 on the 'Strathfieldsaye'. They married a couple of years later and eventually had property near Aireys Inlet, and quite a brood of children. One of their daughters, Elizabeth, married Frederick Dougan Walkden, and these two produced 13 children, the last of whom was my grandmother (Amy Clarice).
The Walkden family - history, and activities after arrival in Victoria, - because of the connection through this marriage, is also documented to some extent.

I don't know if it is still obtainable; Tina wants to see it too. I will approach one of the authors, in the next couple of weeks.

Best regards,
Laurel
