Nicely put! I am a "Walling" with a name corruption and
therefore MANY questions. All my genealogy research leads me back to Thomas "Walling" and hence the illusive Ralph and
Joyce Walling!.....However.....I find also that I am descended from the line of the "Longhunter" Elisha Walling
who also addresses himself as "Walden". My Great, Great
Grandfather "Ozias Denton Walding" and his wife Rhoda Ann
Pennington Walding; appear in the 1858/59 Nashville, TN.
City Directory; plying the family trade of carpentry. The
next time they are found they are an adjoining county, Robertson Co., and their name is stated as Walling. Please give me input on the name corruption and possibly finding the first traceable ancestor "of the old sod". Also please
give me input on the ethnicity of the Waling, Walling, Walding, Walden families. My Maternal Great-Grandfaters
greatest pride was that he was Irish. According to his children; which where my grandparents and I remember WELL!;
swore that their household was kept and practiced is the
Irish was. In the eyes of his children he was. Tell me
about what your Walings were like please. Lets make our
genealogy alive...not just a buch of research and copies of
documentation.(however necessary of course!)

Sherrie Wallace (Walling descendant)
