I am trying to find information on a New York veteran of the American Civil War that died in Australia; but can find nothing on him except his pension card. I am hoping you can help.

His name was William M. Wood, served in Co. "A", 71 Regiment, N Y S Mil.and Co."H", NY 66 Inf.

He died Jan. 17, 1905, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

His widow received a pension, Jan. 13, 1910, application number

Any information you can provide on him and/or his family would be greatly appreciated.

I want to compile a memorial for him to be placed on the Australian American Civil War Veterans Memorial website at www.acwv.info.

Thank you.

James M. Gray
