Hello Alex
Thank you for your response to my posting. I have just recently found old postcards between my parents during WWII and the address on one to my mother (about 1941 as he was being posted abroad) is: (name of the farm is only partly readable, unfortunately, but definitely starts with a P) : P...nnywroled (?) Farm, Llangenny, Near Crickhowell, Breconshire " So not Abergavenny after all but definitely near the Sugar Loaf mountain.
I have contacted that newspaper and they kindly put in a letter
in an issue but there were no responses.I have also joined a Face Book Group "Forgotton Abergavenny" and put up my story, but again with no positive outcome.
Perhaps with this new information I might get somewhere now, and if you have any more ideas or information I would pleased to hear from you again. Perhaps you could email me - the address is shownat the top of my queries.
Thank you
Kind regards
Denise
