I have not found the family in the 1881 Census; BUT this appears to be the Birth of Philip, giving the 1879 location-

There was some DUPLICATION in References, hence the extras!

=======================

There are three potential MARTHA GRIFFITHS Births, at least-

GRIFFITHS Martha Wales Glamorganshire, Merthyr Tydfil 1850 VIEW

GRIFFITHS Martha Wales Glamorganshire, Merthyr Tydfil 1852 VIEW

GRIFFITHS Martha Wales Glamorganshire, Merthyr Tydfil 1853 VIEW

If the Death Record has the name of a parent, this may help identify the specific one.

Incidentally, wiyh a surname of Griffiths and marrying in Wales, I strongly suspect that the 1891 Census Birthplace of Wiltshire is an error or misunderstanding when transcribing from the "door-step notes" to the "clean" version seen in the Scanned IMAGE. Such errors occur frequently.

==================================

A fair amount for you to follow up.

Alex
