Sandra, do you have access to the next census in 1851? I wonder if Richard would still be there. If not, he could possibly be my Richard. I just returned from the LDS Family History Library where I was reading a microfilm about the William Chadsey family in America. I'm going to post my notes on that in a new post. All it helped me with was knowing that the surname was spelled many different ways.
Thanks for your help. This is the only Richard I have seen in searching the census records I have access to.
