Emigrated to US bef. 1865 -- Richard JONES from Brumbo

I would be interested in any information you might have on this man, his entry into the US and his ancestry in Wales.

Richard R. Jones born Sep. 15, 1854 in Brumbo (or Brymbo) Wales.

Parents; Hugh Jones born 1820 Wales, Jane Hughes born 1830 Wales......... Jane died in Illinois (though we are still trying to find her death certificate!)

Siblings: John, James, (Richard), William, Abraham Lincoln (born Pennsylvania), David G.

Therefore, Richard may have come over with his parents before 1865 and originally settled in Pennsylvania, as at least one of his younger brothers was born there, and his mother died in Illinois. Richard would've been about 12 years old.

Richard married Lavina Dinwiddie of Indiana in 1876 (Chicago)..... Though we are having trouble finding evidence of the marriage, we have definitive evidence of their 50th wedding anniversary celebration in 1926.

Richard & Lavina had 6 children, 3 of whom survived through childhood.

My family is planning a trip to the UK this summer, so I am trying to find out if there are some places in Wales we need to add to our itinerary! ;)

Thanks in advance for any information,
--Paula in Texas
