James Walea, Sr. was my husband's ggggrandfather. I have that he died between 1830 - 1837 in Emanuel Co, Georgia and that his father's name was John Walea. I don't have his mother's name. James Sr and Eliza's children were James Jr., William, Elijah, and Eliza; and he had 3 step-children. My husband's line is through James Jr's son Madison. Would be interested in hearing from others regarding the family - what they did for a living, the change in the family name, etc. I'd be happy to send you what information I have.
