Doug--here is a portion of that attachment I spoke of earlier. John Blaylock and Margaret Neal were my great great great grandfather's (Charles Millington Blaylock) brother and sister-in-law.

John Blalock married Margaret Neal on Nov. 26, 1832 in Rutherford Co. NC. John and Margaret had the following children: Edmond, Lucy Jane, Pyalis Elizabeth (went by Betsey), Matthew Gibson & Clara Ann. John was in the military as a private in Captain John H.H. Felch's company in the Arkansas Battalion of Volunteers commanded by Lt. William Gray during the War with Mexico. There are few records to be found relating to this war. John Blalock died at Ft. Smith Ar. on the 29 day of January 1847. This is all in the probate records for Sebastian Co. Ar. Margaret remarried a James D. Treadaway. In 1850 they went to probate court and James Treadaway was granted guardianship of the five Blaylock children for $50.00 each. In 1852 they returned to probate court and guardianship of the five children is given to C. M. Waldroop & W.H. Waldroop. Clinton Meeks Waldroop married Lucy Jane Blaylock. William Henry Waldroop married Pyalis or Betsey Blaylock. William Henry & Pyalis had three children: Edmond Gibson(myggrandfather), Henry & Catherine. William Henry died in April of 1860 in Sebastian Co. of pneumonia. Betsey had already died. In 1860 they return to probate court and guardianship of the three Waldroop children is given to James D. Treadaway, husband of Margaret Neal Blaylock Treadaway( grandmother of the Waldroop children). They are enumerated in the 1860 Sebastian Co. census in the Treadaway household. They were persumed to be Treadaway's until we put this whole picture together. The Blaney Ann you mentioned is a child of Margaret & James. William Henry & Clinton Meeks Waldroop are either brothers or cousins
I'm sorry to be so lengthy, but as you can see it is a complicated story. I don't have a death date on Margaret. Have you been able to find Charles on the census in Sebastian Co.?

Unfortunately, I don't have any info on who the parents of John might be. I have been unable to track him back to anyone until I found your posting. I do have an e-mail from a Waldroop source that says John had a brother named Charles Millington Blaylock who married Philadelphia Kelly.
