Jim, I think your Granfather was often referred to as Uncle Ott by my mother, Lois Love Wilson, daughter of Sina Belle Waldroop. If he is the same, about all I can tell you is that Uncle Ott ( none of us know how the name was arrived at) was a favorite of the sisters. We have somewhere a really dreadful picture of four of the sisters. I think it is Sina, Madge, Minnie and Della - but I may be wrong on a couple. It has the four of them all facing right in their Sunday dress ( black) - a rather bleak photo, but one that probably was norm for those times/area. My Mom spoke of Uncle Ott, but she may not have had any contact with him other than to attend E.G. Waldroop's funeral in 1922. She told a story about the funeral that I will save for one-on-one.
Drop me a line. I have a good history on Sina and may have some info on Della and a few others. Would like to hear from you. Randy Wilson - Birmingham, AL
