(John) Wesley WARDROP/WARDRUP/WALDRIP - Madison Co., NC
Posted by: Douglas Speeckaert (ID *****1442) Date: January 31, 2003 at 11:10:32

Seeking info on (John) Wesley Wardrup.

The 1880 US Census for Marshall, Madison Co., NC lists Wesley at age 22 with a wife of Elizabeth, age 19 and his mother Mary at age 54.

The 1870 US Census for Marshall, Madison Co., NC lists Wesley at age 12 in the household headed by Lidd(i)a, age 46 with siblings of Frankie, Malinda, Catherine, Mary Jane, Margaret, William and a name that looks like Tennessee (the handwriting is hard to read).

The 1860 US Census for Marshall, Madison Co., NC lists Wesley at age 4. The head of household is a Solomon,a ge 49 with wife of Lidd(i)a at age 35. There is also a William Waldrip, age 85 listed as in the household.

The ages for Wesley and Lidd(i)a/Mary all seem to correspond with each other for the years of the census; and it leads to me believe that these are all the same people even with the difference of names for Lidd(i)a and Mary.

I am seeking information on this particular Soloman and family. Any help and guidance is greatly appreciated.
