Early Walcotts of Eastern England
Posted by: John Wolcott (ID *****4840) Date: June 22, 2007 at 20:10:07

The Wolcott/Walcott DNA project has shown that most English Walcotts show descent from Nordic ancestors in the male line, probably Danish or Norman in origin. This Walcott ancestor is very distinct from the early Walcotts of Shropshire whose DNA appears to be Celtic, supporting their tradition of Welch ancestry. A new page about these Walcott has been added to the Wolcott family web pages at www.wolcottfamily.com
