We now have the result of six DNA tests for Walcotts and Walcots: 3 descendants of William Walcott of Salem, and one each for Walcots of Shropshire, Walcotts of London and Barbados, and Walcots of Hampshire. This is the results.
1. The Walcotts of Barbados and the Walcots of Hampshire had a common ancestor.
2. The Walcots of Shropshire are a completely different family.
3. William Walcott of Salem may perhaps have a common ancestor with the Barbados/Hampshire Walcotts.
We have enought samples from William of Salem descendants to be pretty sure of his DNA. We would like additional samples from other the Walcott families.
