Hello,
I am a civil war collector & dealer & just this past weekend purchased a large group of items from the personal files of William Henry Walcott who enlisted on 4/17/1861 at Providence, RI as a private. He was wounded at Gettysburg in the left leg which later had to be amputated. By the end of the Civil War he had been promoted to Colonel. After the civil war he was an Indian agent and made rank all the way to General. I know that he was born in Massachusetts and died on 8/30/1901. I have much more information as well as a wonderful group of artifacts from his life. I am interested in corresponding with people who would be interested in General Walcott. Please e-mail me directly at softdsign@aol.com
Thanks,
Joy Shivar
