My Birthdate 14 10 1949
Brothers Donald William Wakeling B 15.01.40
David Gregory Wakeling B 23.06.53 Died 19.7.96
Sister Dianna Jean B 6th June 1945

Father Walter Nelson Wakeling
Born 7 Trafalgar Bridge Chambers Neate Street Camberwell 29.10/1896
Died 22.11.1983
My grandfather was stated on My fathers birth Certificate as :-
Alfred Horatio Wakeling
Grand Mother Mary Elizabeth nee Jenkins.

My fathers birth certificate was witnessed by William John Macartney Registrar of the General Register Office England.

My Father was always very quiet about his time in England and he told me he had spent time in Hammersmith as a child and often spoke about the regattas' on the Thames with his brother Fred whom he said my bad temper had come from. I did not know anything else about his past and on a visit to London last year I went to Neate Street and learned it had been heavily bombed in WW2 and there is virtually only parkland for its entire length.
At the end of the street there is an old Library Hall but its records were sent to the Camberwell Library. I hope this helps your research but I cannot add anymore and would welcome any other information - as it apperas we could be related. It seems too co-incidental for both your Grandfather and my Father to be born in the same place only a few years apart and his mentioning his brother "Fred".
Please only respond if you wish - I will not bother you and have only my curiousity to satisfy. Life is good.
Kind regards
Richard
