Hi Marilynne.
Thanks for the e-mail last week. I found the info I was after concerning our common ancestor. All of the following information was gathered by my cousin, Jason Summerton. He
is a son of my father's sister. The info was posted to me in January, 1984. I have neither seen nor heard from him since.
Richard Wakeham and Elizabeth (?) were parents to Richard Wakeham, born in Bristol, England (1815). He arrived in Australia around 1833, and worked as a labourer and storekeeper, and lived at Enfield abd Burwood in NSW. He was married three times and had 13 children (7 from first marriage (7-4-1842); Richard, Eliza, Jane, William, Lucy, Ann and John and 6 from the second marriage; Julia, Henry, Thomas, Lydia, Caroline and Louisa).
His first wife Eleanor Lowe was born in Ireland (1822) and arrived in Australia around 1841. She died when only 34 years of age (17-3-1856, Enfield) and is buried in the Enfield cemetery, as is Richard Wakeham (died 26-7-1892). William Wakeham (from first marriage) and Caroline Holmes produced Henry Ishmael Wakeham, who along with Anna Maria Schulz, produced my father, Henry Paul Wakeham.
For the record, my full name is Adrian PAUL Wakeham, born 27-2-46, Calvary Hospital, North Adelaide.
I hope the above info may be helpful to you. Although I have an interest in my genealogy, I haven't chased it up too much.
If I can be of any more help, please let me know.

Paul W.
