Charles, my genealogy files are still boxed. All I can say is that some researchers speculate about the relationship between James Waits and Sarah Sims. We know, from a will, that Absalom's mother was named Sarah. She died (I think) in 1849. No other children were mentioned in the will. I have not been able to link the name "Prestley" with any other Waits connection other than directly descendants of Absalom Waits. I have looked at the possibility that it was the maiden name of Absalom's mother, grandmother etc. but have not found anything. The "Prestley" name is still (today) borne by a living descenant of Absalom Waits.
