Ms. Byrd. I have been researching my ancestor Mattie Waits from Covington County, Alabama. According to her death certificate in 1935, she was born to a James Waits and a Miss Byrd. Seeing as how you carry the Byrd name and are related to the Waits, any chance you may have any information on a James Wait married to a Byrd with a child born in the 1867 to 1876 time frame named Mattie or Martha?
