I am still searching for the place where the wedding of John Waits and Margaret Chambers took place. The info I have says that
they were married in Alabama but so far I have been unable
to locate the county or town. Working backward, my dad was
Bob Gardner of Uniontown, AL, born 1913.His parents were Jeff Gardner and Lela Waits married in Marengo County, Al in
1908. Lela's parents were John Waits and Margaret Chambers, married ?. In the 1900 US Census Lela is posted as being 15
yrs. old so I assume that this marriage would have taken
place about 1880 to 1884. If anyone knows or has any know-
ledge of this couple, please let me know. Thanks for any
help!!!!!
