Thanks for your interest. I am aware of the Feribees in NC. It is quite possible that they ARE related from the circumstantial info. that I have. This family, as did my Waitman, came from Kent Co. DE in the late 1700's. There were several Waitman Furbay/Furby's living at the same time, and I have assumed that my Waitman (b. 1762) was named after the man I think may be his uncle. However, it could be that he was named after a family friend - the Waitman's? Did this Waitman family come from DE by any chance? Thanks again for your help.
