Yes I did make some mistakes in that posting earlier.
Let me rewrite it again. My husband's grandfather, Victor Bradbury Waithman has done extensive research on this family and sent me some family reports. On these various reports are shown the Waithman family tree dating back to William Waythman 1596-1660. Somewhere in the middle, is the following family:
William Waithman 1799-1869
m. Eleanor Armistead
Children are....
Joseph Waithman b. 1831
Robert W. Waithman b. 1828
Joseph Waithman m. Elizabeth Sharp (who died 1889)
Robert W. Waithman m. Melicent Sharp (who died 1887)

Hubert W. Waithman 1859-1891
m. Grace Gertrude Winton (b. 1859)
Children of Hubert and Grace:
Joseph deLindeth Waithman
Maude Victoria Waithman
Grace Elizabeth Waithman
Joseph deLindeth Waithman is my husband's great grandfather and Victor B. Waithman's father.

William Sharp Waithman (b. 1853)
m. Lady Phillipa Stanhope
Child of William and Phillipa:
Henry Wyndham Waithman (b. 1887)

I think it would be safe to pursue the possibility that the two SHARP women (Mellicent and Elizabeth) may have been sisters. At least we know for certain that Robert and Joseph were brothers.
