I am looking for any information on Alvah Solomon Wait/Waite. I have come across records in the church archives that my gg grandmother married him Aug. 25, 1891 in Taborville St Clair Missouri. Solomon was born on Oct 8, 1817 in Elizabeth Park, Saratoga, New York. He was baptized in Taborville MO into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (not the Moromons) on June 27, 1892. Shortly after their marriage he left with his daughter's family (Grace did not go with him) and went to Texas and died there in 1898. My gg grandmaother was Grace Armitage Hadley born Oct 8 1836 in Clinton Co., Ohio and married Jabez Hunt Hadley Sept 6 1860. He died Oct 12, 1889 in Taborville, MO. This marriage to Solomon Wait was a total surprise to us. Her son kept meticulous records and no where does he mention his mother's mariage to Solomon although he does mention business dealings with him during the same time. Does anyone have information on Solomon. A census tells me that he was a tanner.
Does anyone have any info on this marriage or why he left Missouri to live in Texas?
