Trying to find the family of Sarah Wait, Waite, or Waits who was born about 1795 in NC. Found in 1870 census in Lafayette County, MS, Twp 8, Dallas P. O. living with:
Virginia (nee Wait) Scott, 35 born 1830-1835 SC/MS
and children:
W. J. (James W.)14 born about 1855 MS
M. A. (Martha A.)12 born about 1858 MS
S. (Sarah Rebecca Judith)10 born about 1860 MS
J. C. (John Calvin)8 born about 1865-1868 MS
Sarah was 75 years old and blind. I assume she was the mother or grandmother of Virginia. This is the only census I have been able to find her in.
