The following information was contributed to be Donald Dunnington. Benjamin F. Johnson was born on October 6, 1862 and died on December 25, 1914. He married Cora Lanier May 26, 1883. She was born 1860 and died on December 13, 1902. Their children were: Lottie, Herman. I have several other marriages. Benjamin F. Johnson, had a sister by the name of Ida Frances Johnson who was the second wife of Marshal Monroe Wainwright. Ida Johnson, had a sister by the name of Carolyn Johnson who married Marshall's brother Thomas Wainwright. Donald writes: "Marshal was the grandson of our earliest known ancestor, Thomas Wainwright and was the son of Caswell. His second wife, my grandmother, was the granddaughter of Thomas Wainwright via a daughter Lucinda, who married Hanson Johnson. Her son, Charles and Penelope Dunnington were the parents of Ida.
He was a life long railroad man and his whole family could travel on passes. He was tall and handsome and a typical Victorian father and husband.
He gave land to build a school on his property. It was used on Sunday for a chuch and there was a rotation of pastors and even the Catholic priest. Everyone went - disregarding denominations.
Marshall Wainwright and Ida Johnson were married March 4, 1888. I have more information if you want it. I've lost touch with Donald Dunnington and don't have an e-mail address for you.
I hope this helps you. If you want to know more I have what he sent to me.
Blessings,
Suzy Dixon Bennett
