QUESTION: Was "Jefferson Straton Wainscott, b-1833," child number 5 of C.C. Wainscott, still alive during the Civil War era? ..Please help me locate him.

One "S.J. Wainscot" is listed in the Texas Confederate records as a Private in Company "B" of Alexander's 34th TX Cavalry, CSA. ... most of the recruits of Company B lived in the Grayson Co TX area. ... I have not seen his 34th Cavalry records, only the database. ... It was not uncommon for initials to be transposed.

In the early 1990s I researched this Wainscott family since my Mary "Polly Ann" (Boone) Moore was a sister to Rebecca (Boone) Wainscott and Hannah Ann (Boone) Wainscott. ..See web page address toward bottom of this query.
