Hello. I've been trying to find out about the parents of my husband's grandmother for several years. All we knew was that her maiden name was Annie Mary Magdalene McLAUGHLIN. She was born ~1890 in either Ireland or England. Last week I received her death certificate from 1949 in Cambridge, MA (US) and it had her parents: (unknown) McLAUGHLIN and (unknown) McDERMOTT, both born Ireland. (I believe her surviving adult children did not know the correct information.) I placed queries on several Lists at www.rootsweb.com and found out that she was Annie McLOUGHLIN (note spelling), and she was born in London, England. Her parents seem to be John McLOUGHLIN and Jessie WAGNER, both born ~1856. It seems John was born in Scotland, and he died the year Annie was born. John and Jessie, in London, seem to have had 6 daughters, and Annie was the youngest. (2 daughters must have died young) I am posting more queries to find John's parents in Scotland in the 1850's. Jessie was born ~1856, but we don't know which country she was born in, as different records say different things. So, I'd like to know if anyone knows of a WAGNER family in 1850's in either Ireland or England which had a daughter, named Jessie. Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) P.S. The widow, Mrs. Jessie McLOUGHLIN placed 4 of her daughters in a Convent in London from ~1890 until her re-marriage in 1899 to Samuel LUSCOMBE. The family was together in London in the 1901 census. Annie McLOUGHLIN came to the US in ~1908, and found her way to Waltham, MA, where she married ~1911 to James GAVIN. Her mother might have died about 1916 in London. So I'm looking for a nee' Jessie WAGNER, b~1856, d~1916. Notify Administrator about this message?
