We just discovered a marriage record for Solomon Carter, born about 1834 in Indiana, son of James Carter. Solomon's parents were listed as James Carter and Polly Wagle.
Between 1830 and 1840, James Carter had a farm in Eugene twp. in Vermillion County IN. His land was adjacent to John Wagle and close to Jacob Wagle. The Wagles and related families - mainly Fox and Reffett - migrated to Indiana from Montgomery County KY.
By 1850, James Carter and some of the Wagles had moved to Jasper County IL.
Who was Polly Wagle? I'm sure she was related to John and Jacob, but how? And I desparatly need to know when she died because now I don't know whether Polly or James Carter's next wife, Margurite Reffett, was my g.g. grandmother.
