Hello, All, My wife is a Waghorn, and for many years I have been seeking the genealogical link between her family and that of Lieutenant Thomas Fletcher Waghorn, of Chatham and Snodland, who first established the route to India via the Mediterranean and across Egypt rather than round the Cape of Good Hope, long before the Suez Canal. We know there was a connection, because her grandmother saw his logbooks, sword and gloves while on a visit to her husband's family, but the exact relationship remains a mystery. During my research I have gathered information from a variety of sources, but mainly from the London library of the Society of Genealogists and their copies of parish records and monumental inscriptions, and this has grown to some eight thousand entries for Waghorns and their relatives. I have now come across this Waghorn Forum, and would be pleased to exchange data with any of its members. I have already checked the names mentioned in some of the messages, and have found most of them, so if you like to send me the information you already have I will add any new data to my file and send you in return details of records which are connected with your particular interests, and hope that something may turn up that helps to solve my own problem. Best wishes - Ted Stock Notify Administrator about this message?
