Some progress to report! I have the pair of Edward Waghorn and Jane Horwood, and their nine children, as shown by the various census entries, with just one
grandchild, Edwin, born to William in 1856, but I expect you have those and a great deal more.
I have 114 entries related in some way to Wadhurst, and some events may well be recorded at Ticehurst, which is only three miles away. There are quite a number which might be siblings of your Edward, but further back I spotted an Edward Waghorn, born about 1651 Wadhurst (IGI), wife Dorothy, and children Edward 1676, Dorothy 1677, Elizabeth 1679, Margaret 1680, Mary 1682 (& d.May 1705), Samuel 1685, Thomas 1687, John 1689 & Ann 1691, all born Wadhurst. I think this is probably your line earlier on - there were no obvious leads of Edwards between that and 1799, but I will look again soon.
