Searching for info on Robert W Wagoner (no accurate birth or death info), spouse was Della Parker Wagoner (died and buried abt 1895-1897 in Marshall Co TN). Lived in mid-Tennessee near Chapel Hill (Marshall Co) in late 1800s. They were my maternal g-grandparents. I know Robert was still alive abt 1925 - my mother remembers him. I also have a picture of him with my mother about 1915.
Robert and Della had several children, all of whom were apparently given up for adoption or foster care when Della died about 1895. My grandfather John Clyde Miller (born John Clyde Wagoner in Marshall Co TN in 1893) took the name of the H F Miller family who raised him and his sister Stella a couple of miles west of Chapel Hill TN. My grandfather inherited the Miller farm about 1914.
Stella (not sure she used Miller or Wagoner maiden name) married and lived in Shelbyville TN per family stories, but we never had any contact with her.
My mother said Robert visited or lived in Indianapolis IN around 1920-1925 but I have not been able to find him anywhere.
One clue is a Della Smiley (lived just west of Chapel Hill TN in 1920's and 30's) is supposed to be a sister of Robert. She would have been 80 in late 30's.
I need to get Robert identified first so I can look for his ancestors among the large group of Wagoner/Waggoners. I also would like to identify his wife's family, but again there are a lot of Parkers.
