I am trying to find out where in Kentucky was this Seldon G. Wagner from. I am guessing Adair County, but could use confirmation and further leads. Here is what I have.
1) He married Mary Pauline McGrath (probably in Philadelphia, between 1872 and 1878/1879). She was born in Philadelphia, July 2, 1849.
2) According to the 1880 Federal Census, Seldon was living at 2135 Arch Street, Philadelphia with his wife, a three month old daughter named Mary, and an unmarried 30 years old sister named Jennie, like her brother, born in Kentucky. In the 1880 Census, Seldon's father is also listed as born in Kentucky. Seldon's profession is listed as "superintendent " and his age, 38.
3) In Gopsill's Philadelphia Directory for 1885, Seldon is listed as Selden G. Waggener, superintendent, home address, 3013 Dauphin Street.
4) On another web-site, I found some information on a Seldon Garnett Waggener (born cerca 1815/1816 [?]), whose father was Robert J. Waggener (born around 1790[?]), and whose grandfather was John Waggener (1765-1830). If my Seldon Waggener's "G" stands for "Garnett", he could well be the son of Seldon Garnett Waggener.
I'd be pleased to hear from anyone who could send some more information my way. Thanks very much for your help.
