Not sure if we're talking about the same person, but I have a George Granville Waggaman born about 1815. No info on West Point, but he was later a major in U.S. Army, so it seems reasonable. His father was Thomas Waggaman, born in MD and died in VA. His mother was Martha Tyler, sister of President John Tyler. I'd be interested in whatever you have.
