Ann..hoping this is a link.My father (B.L.Watkins)his grandmother was Francis Garmany (nick-name Fanny) She married Strander Wadkins.I located their marriage license @ the Dekalb Co Courthouse in Ft. Payne Alabama.Strander and Fanny had two children of which one died and according to my father was blind. The other child John Bailey Wadkins married Mary Jane Wilkerson and they had nine children of which my father was the youngest. My father is 89 this year. As far as I can tell Strander was born in SC and later moved to the Sugar Valley, Ga area.My father remembers going to the unmarked grave there. He (Strander) accoring to my father was quite a character.Fanny Garmany died in 1923 at the age of 93. My father remembers his Grandmother very well.He remembers her smoking a corn cob pipe and says she was 3/4 Cherokee Indian. She is buried at Harris Cemetery in Cherokee County (Cedar Bluff area), Alabama. The grave is unmarked but I still visit with my father at Decoration with flowers.Would love to correspond with you about the Garmany's.
