William;
My gg grandfather was Pleasant M. Wade and I have looking to find information about his mother and father for some time.I had heard from a cousin that she thought his name might be Milton but she had no resourses.Pleasant had a brother William (Willis) but I don't know much about him. Pleasant was married three times, 1. Laura Matilda Savage, 2. Mildred Settle, 3. Nancy Ann Eastman, daughter of George Eastman and Mary Ann Allen. He and Laura had a daughter Victorine, and a son John Savage Wade, that is my line as he was my g grandfather. This John moved to Weston, Texas and practiced medicine there for years.He had a vast formal education.He married Lillie Carnes and they had eleven children, one of which wasa son John Savage Wade my grandfather, and he had a son John Savage Wade, my father, and my brother was John Savage Wade.I have resourse information from "Biographical Souviner of the State of Texas' 1889 in reference to the fact that Pleasant was indeed the first County Clerk of DeKalb County and a clerk to the Tennessee Senate. He worked as a journeyman under Andrew Johnson, former president, and he owned slaves.His second wife was Mildred Settle and they had a daughter, Ada.I don't know if there were more children.
