John Ralph Waddington, born 1/1/1877 at Blackburn

My great grandmother was called Sarah Tandy. She married a man called William Hackwood, but in 1906 she was living with a John Ralph Waddington (who was born in Blackburn on 1/1/1877). They had two children Jane Waddington born in 1906 in Eccleshill, Lancs, and Arthur Waddington. I have been unable to trace any wedding details or any birth details for Arthur. I wonder if anyone could shed any light on the matter. It may be that Sarah and John Ralph never married but when she died she was called Sarah Waddington and they lived in Clayton Le Moors, Lancs.

Any assistance you could give me would be greatly received
