Judie---Thank you so much for sending this posting that is so interesting to me. You may have put me a step closer to solving a little mystery.
My gr-gr-grandparents (Wilhelm Niepert and Sophia Wachter Niepert) are buried in St. Peters Cemetery in St. Louis MO. Buried beside them are 3 other Nieperts from their family, and a seven-month-old boy named Friederick William Meyer, who was buried on July 13, 1891.I have never known who this baby was.
Could little Friederick William Meyer be a child of Dora Tiemann Meyer and Ludwig Meyer?Or some other relation? If Sophia Wachter and Hanne Catherine Waechter were sisters(?) that would make Dora the niece of Sophia.Just speculation, of course, but little Friederick came from somewhere.
Also, the Nieperts were from the very same area (Minden) near Herford, in Germany, as your Hanne Catherine Waechter. Sophia Wachter and Wilhelm Niepert were married before they left Germany, so it is reasonable to think my Wachters may have been from the same area.
Thank you again for writing, and giving me your wonderful information.Let me know if you have ever heard of Friederick William Meyer.Warm regards---Melinda
