He was born, Heinrich WACHTAL, in Pennsylvania in 1764 and died as Henry WAUGHTEL in Smithfield, Fulton Co, Illinois in 1850. He was a wagon builder and a wagoneer by trade driving wagons for families migrating from Virgina, Pennsylvania and Ohio. He and his wife Catharine had 13 children and 12 of them grew up and got married. One of his daughters, Sarah, married Jackson PIRKLE, now known as PURTLE on 6 Feb 1834 in Fulton County, Ill. Henry was guardian of Jackson PIRKLE at the time. Who were the parents of Henry and Catharine WACHTAL and of Jackson PIRKLE ? Jackson PIRKLE was born in KY around 1814. How did he and Henry get toghether in Illinois ? Les Lee
