Thank you for the information. I had just recently discovered Thomas and Elizabeth on both the 1870 CA census and the 1860 NY, plus the cemetery. I have contacted the Whitman Co Gen Soc about getting obits for me, but haven't had a chance to have them get them for me. I had figured Robert was probably related, but just have not had the time to figure out how. You know how it goes with genealogy. To many lines to work on. I am going to the Family History Center today while my daughter is at a birthday party, so will check the Territorial Censuses. However they are not indexed and very poor copies, so it may take a while. The 1882 and 1886 are mostly readable, but the 1884 is not readable at all. I'm not sure if there is an 1888, will have to check that out. My next project, after I finish my current one for my husband's family reunion in June, is to get back to the 1880 CA census and see if I can locate the Gribben's. By the 1882 census there are several more children listed. Of them only a son Thomas b. 1871 has been located. He is also bured in Palouse. What can you tell me about Robert Rooney. Other than the 1860 and the 1910 censuses, have you been able to locate him? I'm in the process of writting to a sort of distant cousin, so will ask him if he has ever hear anything about the Rooney's. My biggest problem is that my mother was adopted out to a distant relative and the Dent/Gribben line is her birth lines. Since she was not raised with the family she knows very little about them. I'm just now finding a few relatives that know anything or will talk about it. I don't know what exactly went on, but there are a lot of mysteries in this side of my family and most people won't talk about them. Well had best get going if I'm going to get to the History Center today. Will keep you updated. Debbie Notify Administrator about this message?
