State School for Girls 1920 -Grand Monud pct- help

I have traced a girl & found her in the STATE SCHOOL for GIRLS in Mound Pct in 1920. These seems to be girls from 14-19y old. What sort of a facility was this? Was it an orphanage, or correctional institution? THANKS, JAN
