Thomas Frizzell, Chewelah, after 1920?

I have been looking for Thomas Frizzell and his family, especially his mother Ida. These are collateral relatives, (my husband's ggreat aunt), but it has bothered me they cannot be found after the 1920 census. Looking in the 1930 census (through ancestry.com), they don't show up in any state. Family lore has it Ida died in Chewelah, but she's not in the family plot (in Chewelah) or any cemetary listing I've searched.
Be glad to hear any ideas. Could they have moved to Canada?
