coy family in clayton early 1900's

Iam seeking information on the Coy family living in Clayton in early 1900's. My father Theodore Coy was born there in 1903. His fathers name was James Coy, mother Ida May skinner,he had 5 sibblings, lennie,leola,Howard,lester,leland. His father was a supervisor at the tera cota brick yards. Having trouble finding where James Coy came from before he lived in Clayton. He was addopted, trying to find any info I can. Iam trying to search family history btu it stops in Clayton.Please help me solve this mystery.
