James and Mary Jane Cary Cochrane were married in Hamilton Washington on July 25, 1886, at the home of Jesse Cary. James was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and Mary Jane Cary was born July 16, 1860 in Indiana. She died on March 18, 1908. Her parents, my grandparents, were Alfred Cary born in Dutchess county New York, and her mother Dorcas Wood Cary was born in Binghamton, New York. They had 5 children as far as I know; Aaron, Freeman, Jesse, Norah, and Mary Jane my grandmother. Mary Jane and James had 9 children; Colin, Charles, Francis, Robert, George Dewey, my father, Jeanette, Annie, Ellen, and Florence. They all lived in the Hamilton area at one time. My paternal Greatgrandmother, Catherine Anne Campbell Cochrane was born in Scotland but came to Hamilton to live with James. She is buried in the Hamilton Cemetary.
