First, does the daughter Fern have any information that will help you?She should at least know where her mother died.I would first suggest contacting her.
An obituary from the State Library would give some information, but why go to the library when the daughter Fern probably has a copy, and at least knows when her father died.

Skagit County has no volunteers listed on the Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness... why?
