Hi David, I'm working on my Washington Hart family (just beginning) and I'm very interested in the Skagit Valley Harts.
Have you learned any more of Joseph and his family?
(who was Peg leg Anderson?)
Benj. Franklin Hart,M.D. came originally from Kentucky and ended up in the Seattle area. He would be my Gr.Gr.Grandfather (I think). His daughter Ada Penelope was my Gr. Grandmother. (We called her Gookie). She said he was a country Doctor.
He had a brother, John, I believe, that also ended up in the Seattle area. John was a Lawyer and owned a good deal of land in Seattle.
They had a brother named Joseph...of course he was born much too soon to be the Joseph you mentioned.
Benj.Hart, M.D. had a son named John...three daughters...Ada Penelope, Alice and Emma. (As far as I know).
Alice and Emma were in Seattle.
Ada lived in Bellingham for some time with her daughter Hazel and helped take care of her three children...Robert, Arnold and Carol Donovan. The Donovan's of Blodel-Donovan logging company.
I have some info. on the Harts from way back...don't know much on Benj. brothers and sisters children as yet.
Please let me hear from you if you have any more info. on Harts. Thanks, Cherie
