Hi Joni, I didn't find anything in the Censuses for the Proctor family but this was VERY early in Washington Territory which became a state November 11, 1889. Also I assumed that Caroline died in 1866 in Washington Territory and her children were born there.

If you want to check that William was living in Pierce County in 1880s and early 1890s, you could contact the Tacoma-Pierce County Genealogical Society, www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~watpcgs/ and see if they have a County Directory for that time period.

They also might have info on these two men since they had positions of authority in Buckley.

Have you done a web search for a Museum in Buckley? They might have info too.

You might have to glean info about their careers from whatever newspaper was published in Buckley when they were in office. The Washington State Library can tell you what newspaper was in existence then. You can request the microfilm from your local library via inter-library loan.

YOu can contact the Washington State Library, www.secstate.wa.gov/library/ask.aspx for copies of Washington and Frank's obits. They will search their newspaper archives for 60 minutes without charge & reply with what they find. Successful Searching!
