Hi Andrew, I also found W. E. Stone in the 1857 Minnesota Territorial Census Cannon Falls, Goodhue Co., MN. He was born in NY, abt. 1829 and was a carpenter living in a boarding house.
Then on the same Census I found another W. E. Stone in Township 111, Goodhue Co. who was 30, born in NY and a farmer. His wife was Laura, 24, born in NY. Daughter Khodell, 4, born in NY and W. E. Stone Jr., 2, born in NY.
Their next door neighbor was Ellery Stone, 54, born in VT, Farmer. His wife Sivonia or Livonia, 53 and born in VT. Eugean, 24, male, b. Penn and farmer and Silas, 13, male, b. in NY.
In 1860 William Stone and family live in Leon, Goodhue, MN. He was born abt. 1831, NY and he's a farmer. His wife Laura was 24 & born in NY. Son Silas E. was 4 & b. in NY. Son Loran was born in MN & 2 yrs old.
A William Stone born abt. 1828 in NY and family was living in Chetopa Richland, Labette Co., KS. He was either a wagon broker or maker. I'm not so sure this family is yours. His wife Laura was 35 & b. NY. His son Elbert was 14 & b. in NY. His son G or Laraine, 12 yrs old was born in MN. However, Elbert could have been Silas E and the G or Laraine a garbled spelling of Loran.
I also found them in Rosita, Custer Co., CO.However Silas E. isn't with the family. A new addition to the family is Lee, b. MO & 9.
I didn't find Laura in subsequent Censuses. Check interment.net This is an excellent web site for burials in eastern WA.
In 1900 Lee's family is living in Salmon, Okanogan Co., WA. Lee was born May 1871, MO, married 6 yrs & a farmer. His wife is Charlotte, born Jan. 1876, b. IL and has given birth to two children who are alive in 1900. Wm. E. born Dec. 1894, WA and Harry C. b. July 1896, WA are their children. Lee's uncle Lee C. Stone lives with them. He was b. Dec. 1858, IL, single and a day laborer.
William E. (Sr.) is living with Lee (his son) and family in 1910 in Beeman, Okanogan Co., WA. Lee and his wife have been married 17 yrs., he was b. MO & a farmer on the home farm. His wife Lottie is 34, b. in IL & has given birth to 3 children whom are alive in 1910. All three were born in WA. William is 16, Harry 14 and Ray is 9. The Sr. William is a widower, 81 & no occupation shown.
On 6/5/1917 William Edward Stone filled out his WWI Draft Reg. Card. He was living in Conconully, Okanogan Co., WA. He was born 18 Dec 1894, Conconully (now town of about 200). He was a farmer for Char Ste or Hess?, Conconully. He has no dependents but is married. He is tall, slender with grey eyes & light brown hair.
In 1920 Lee Stone and family are living in Beeman. Lee is a dairy farmer. His wife Charlotte, b. IL & 43. E. William, 25, married, and farm laborer on home farm. H. Ray, 12, is a laborer on home farm and L. Roger, 8, born WA.
C. Harry is living next door to the family, 23, single and a grain farmer.
In 1930 Lee, Charlotte and Rodger are living in Beeman. Lee is a general farmer, 59; Charlotte 55; and Rodger L., 18, single and a laborer farming.
I found a Loren Stone and wife Rosa in 1910 in Beeman. Loren was b. MN, 51 and a farmer on home farm. Rosa was b. IL & 50 and had no children.
In Feb. 1971 a Lee Stone, 531-50-9444, died. His last residence (which also might be where his last check was mailed) was Wenatchee, Chelan Co., WA. He was born 14 May 1871. His soc. sec # was assigned to him in WA in 1964.
Check out Wenatchee Area Genealogy Society for a copy of his obituary, if he was buried in Douglas or Chelan Counties and if there are any newspaper or book articles with his name in them. Also check out interment.net if you don't find him buried in Douglas or Chelan Counties. For a small fee they can look him up in the Chelan County and Wenatchee Directory and tell you where he lived and what his occupation was.
William Stone Jr. and his family were living in Longview, Cowlitz Co., WA in 1930. He was born abt. 1895, WA. His wife Bessie was 26 and daughter Louise was 3 1/2ths.
A William Stone, 535-09-9067, died June 1985 and his last residence (or place where last check was sent) was Longview, Cowlitz Co., WA. He was born 18 Dec 1894. His soc. sec. # was assigned to him in WA before 1951.
A William E. Stone, same soc. sec. #, died 16 June 1985, Longview where he lived per death cert #016218. You can order either a copy of his social security application from the Social Security Dept. or a copy of his death cert. from the State of WA.
A Harry C. Stone and his family in 1930 lived in Bridge, Douglas Co., WA. Harry was b. abt. 1897, WA. His wife Leah was 27, daughter Edith A. 9; Lea C. 7 and Kenneth B. 4 8/12ths.
A Harry Stone, 532-07-1542, died Sept. 1970. His last residence (or where his last benefit was mailed) was Wenatchee, Chelan Co., WA. He was born 18 July 1896. His social sec. # was assigned to him in WA before 1951.
Ray H. Stone and family in 1930 lived in Beeman. He was born abt. 1902, WA and was a farm laborer. His wife Parra N., b. in WA & 22 yrs old. Daughter Betty R. born in WA was 1 8/12ths old. Son Wesley D. born in WA was 1/12ths old.
Raymond Stone, 536-10-2189, born 4 March 1901 died Dec 1959. His soc. sec. # was assigned to him in WA before 1951.
Roger L. Stone, b. 1911, Okanogan Co., WA enlisted in the Army 25 March 1941 Tacoma, WA. He graduated from grammar school and was single without dependents.
