Thank you Howard for searching on my behalf on information on Cyrus Wellington. In the past two days I was able to find quite a bit about him, as well as his wife.
Cyrus Wellington:
born 1844 in New York.
1860 census: Hesper, Iowa. age 17, cabinet maker. Living with Jacob Gage 26, a cabinet maker, Harriet age 20 (Jacob's wife) and son Francis 5/12.

1861 - August 24, Enlisted as a Private at age of 20, Promoted to Full Corporal on 19 July 1862, wounded on 18 August 1864 at Atlanta, GA, Mustered out on 24 Sept 1864m Distinguished Service. Served with Oompany H, 9th Infantry Regiment Iowa

Civil Was Pension filed by Cyrus: invalid
Civil War Pension Index: state filed: Wisconsin, by Widow Gerturede G. Wellington. Cyrus died June 1909
1870 Census- age 25. Hesper, Winneshiek, Iowa.
1876: Defense Attorney in a murder case- won appeal.
1878-1882- District Attorney.
1889 census: West Decorah. DA
1890- St Paul MN With Erwin and Wellington- Laywer
1893 Spokane Washington: Attorney: Great Northern Ry Law Department
Children: 2 daughters: Marion and Margaret L, 1 son: Phillip
Cyrus was forced into retirement because of failing eyesight-he was going blind.

Wife: Gertrude Gail Allen Wellington. born 1854 Iowa
Parents: Tristam Allen b. Mass. farmer, Mother: Elizsbeth b. NY
Daughter Marion b. 1875, son Phillip b. 1877, and daughter Margaret L, b, 1879
1860 census: age 6
Attended public and also private schools
1870 census: age 16, Hesper, Iowa, school teacher.
1887 Graduated from Med. school: New York Medical College and Hospital for Women.
Gertrude became a well known woman doctor, working witih the Hull House-Jane Addams, and working with the Public Baths in Chicago. She also was a professor
1900: Chicago
1910 Centuria, Wisc
1920 Saint Croix Falls, Wisc.


1880 census: West Decorah.
